Fun and Colourful Alternative Wedding at Mount Druid, Westmeath

I got to know this bride and groom Caoimhe and David through one of my best friends so being asked to photograph their wedding was a real honour. The excitement grew even further when I heard the were getting married at one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE wedding venues, Mount Druid in Castletown Geoghegan, Westmeath.I have been to a lot of wedding venues as you can imagine but Mount Druid never fails to excite me when I see the name come through in a booking form. Here are just a few of the reasons I love the place -

Mount Druid Accommodation

They have the most incredible accommodation and glamping on site which is not only super cool for your guests but also makes for great photo backdrops! Thinks caravans, yurts, Shepard huts, a converted double decker bus (check out the bride and groom in front of it below) …they have the lot!

Mount Druid Wedding Food

They do the most amazing wedding food, often a buffet style BBQ which having tasted it many times…I can attest is divine! Plus the Barn where the evening reception is hosted is just the most incredible space for you to party with your guests.

This has to be one of the top selling points for me for this venue… the staff are simply nothing short of incredible. They are so kind and helpful and go above and beyond to make your day absolutely perfect. I’ve seen the hard work they put in behind the scenes and they really do care about each and every wedding that takes place there. Anyway, enough gushing about the venue….time to get back to gushing about the couple!Once you scroll down and see Caoimhe and David’s artistic style …you will know exactly why Mount Druid was the perfect venue for them. I nearly died of happiness when Caoimhe walked out in her fabulous, multi-coloured faux fur jacket. Knowing her already before the wedding I had high expectations, but the attention to detail, the craft and the personal touches they put in to the day blew me away.  The real star of the show however…was their gorgeous 8 month old son Caleb (check out his teeny tiny little suit!!) . I adored watching him getting so much love and attention from their families throughout the day. That’s another thing, the love shown to Caoimhe, David & Caleb throughout the day was palpable. Their friends and family were just the most incredible people and there was love and laughter and happiness in bucket loads that day.The couple put a huge effort in to making sure their guests had just as much of an amazing day that they had and you could tell what a great time everyone was having.Ok…this has been a long one. Enough of my ramblings, please go and enjoy their incredible wedding photos, I have no doubt they will leave you with a smile on your face To see more of my photos head over to my portfolio page
